These aluminum, nickel and copper magnets are sintered in Inconel boats to form small magnets no greater than 2 inches in any direction.

Material Composition

Aluminum, Nickel, Cobalt, and Iron powder that is pressed and sintered into its final form.

Key Properties

Stronger magnetic performance than cast Alnico, excellent resistance to demagnetization, and good stability in high temperatures.

Temperature Range

Can withstand temperatures up to 480°C, making it ideal for high-temperature applications.

Manufacturing Notes

The sintering process gives a more uniform microstructure compared to casting, leading to improved magnetic performance. However, it is harder and more brittle, requiring careful handling during machining.

Common Uses

Pressure gauges, magnetrons, amplifiers, sensors, and meters.
