Contact UsBonded Samarium Iron Nitrogen magnets deliver rare earth magnetic performance without relying on more costly raw materials like Neodymium or Cobalt. This emerging magnetic material reliably resists high heat, moisture and corrosion.
Material Composition
Samarium, Iron, and Nitrogen powder bonded with a polymer binder.
Key Properties
High energy density, good resistance to demagnetization, and moderate strength. SmFeN magnets are newer materials with increasing interest in the industry due to their potential for high performance applications.
Temperature Range
Typically, stable up to 120°C, depending on the binder being used.
Manufacturing Notes
A newer material that combines some of the most desirable properties of SmCo with improved cost-effectiveness. Offers good machinability.
Common Uses
Miniature motors, actuators, advanced micro-electronic systems, and in places where a combination of strength and thermal stability is needed.
