Contact UsCast “AlNiCo” is a combination of Aluminum, Nickel and Cobalt. Developed in the 1930s, this type of magnet still sees broad application today. Alnico magnet levels range from bonded up to hot-mold exothermic (Alnico 10).
Material Composition
Alloy of Aluminum, Cobalt, Nickel, and Iron, cast into a mold.
Key Properties
Moderate magnetic strength, excellent temperature stability, and high resistance to demagnetization. These magnets are not as strong as rare earth magnets but excel in harsh environments.
Temperature Range
Can withstand temperatures up to 500°C without losing performance.
Manufacturing Notes
Cast Alnico is more easily shaped than sintered Alnico and does not require the same level of post-processing. It can be molded into complex shapes directly.
Common Uses
Electric guitar pickups, high-temperature motors, sensors, and measuring devices. Also used in applications that demand high stability over temperature variations.
